Exelon Grid Analytics team has partnered with one of our operating companies to develop an AI-based asset and defect detection model for one type of distribution equipment.
Our operating companies get thousands of field images from their drone inspection program every year. Unfortunately, subject matter experts need to manually review these images to identify potential equipment or vegetation issues in the field. Automating the defect detection process through AI will significantly lower exposure to in-field hazards for crews and reduce the time for engineers to review thousands of images for potential issues.
