Metropolitan Energy Center (MEC) has serves as a catalyst for environmental and economic vitality of America’s Heartland. They are the only nonprofit in the Kansas City area dedicated to reversing climate change through the reduction of emissions produced in the transportation and building sectors—the two largest sources of greenhouse gases in the U.S. This presentation will highlight EV infrastructure projects taking place in this area including a Streetlight Electric Charging project in Kansas City, a project to add EV charging to a small suburb that currently has no EV charging capabilities and another program working on adding EV charging to travel stations on I70 between Kansas City and Denver. MEC will also discuss their relationship and how they work Evergy and other local utilities to advance these types of projects.
