Shelly leads West Monroe’s Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Center of Excellence. Shelly provides DER strategy to help utilities become a Trusted Energy Advisor for their customers. By applying advanced modeling capabilities with business case analysis, Shelly develops multi-perspective business case models to help utilities design win-win DER programs. Shelly has supported several regulatory filings, including a Transportation Electrification Plan and a Clean Energy Implementation Plan. In addition, to help utilities in customer outreach and education, Shelly develops custom digital products to enable customers understand potential total cost of ownership savings of DER and EV products. Prior to West Monroe, Shelly received a PhD from Carnegie Mellon University in Engineering & Public Policy. Her thesis focused on the economics of behind-the-meter solar photovoltaics and energy storage.
